Introducing RPN Global Sales Part 1

Say hello to our Founder Maria (Tes) Casin

Hello and welcome to RPN Global Sales. In this series, we would like to introduce ourselves and how we can help you in the journey of selling your home. We begin with our founder’s story, Maria (Tes) Casin.

Humble beginnings

RPN Global Sales Pty Ltd had its humble beginnings in 2005 when founder Tes Casin saw a need for quality real estate services in her local area. Back then, it was known as Real Property Network or RPN. In addition to servicing buyers and sellers, they specialised in project management and introducing customers to reputable builders who offered off-the-plan investment property.

It wasn’t long before RPN reached the top of Google search results and became well-known in the area. As the popularity of RPN rose, an opportunity came to acquire another business when Global Real Estate, a rival property agency in the area, went for sale in 2006. This is how the current name RPN Global Sales Pty Ltd came about.

RPN Global Sales had an office in Blacktown and a shopfront in Rooty Hill. They eventually settled in Rooty Hill by 2008.

The beginning of the end

The beginning of the end came when Tes’ beloved husband Alex’s pancreatic cancer came back in February 2019, and he was put on palliative care. She decided to sell the business and go into early retirement to spend more time with him. Tes described the days following the diagnosis until his death in September 2019 as “the most beautiful few months.”

At this time, she was praying for the right buyer to buy her business, and she prayed for someone “with integrity and with money” to purchase the company at the right price. Her prayers were answered when her landlord introduced her to an associate interested in buying RPN Global Sales. After introducing himself, the buyer declared, “I am a person of integrity and I have money.”

Tes laughed at the memory. “I was shocked and asked if he was an angel! Because nobody but God had heard my prayer!”

Her long, dark night of the soul began when Alex died in September 2019. Many months of sadness, reflection, sorrow, pain, and uncertainty followed.

“I realised that the only way out of this indescribable pain is to go through it,” Tes said.

And go through it, she did.

She spent many days and nights alone, working through her grief. Throughout it all, and especially in her darkest moments, her indomitable faith sustained her.

But that wasn’t the end of the story for Tes. The following year brought the pandemic, which upended many businesses and threw the world into chaos. Tes’ grief deepened, and once again, her faith sustained her.

As the world opened up again and after months of solitude and reflection, there was a change in her heart.

Tes reflects, “Pain and grief are real, and to grieve is necessary. But I’m learning more to greet each day with so much hope.”

With renewed hope, she decided to go back to school to obtain her MBA. Gradually, the idea of opening up the business again took root, and she took steps to buy back her business.

“I had wanted to stay retired,” Tes says. “I never thought I’d come back. I thought I should chase my dreams of becoming a missionary or volunteer [for causes she cared about].”

But as the saying goes, life doesn’t always turn out as planned.

Rebirth

She never thought she’d be right back where she started, but now Tes finds herself re-starting the business she began almost twenty years ago.

But the landscape had changed. COVID had ravaged many businesses. A digital transformation had taken hold, and RPN Global Sales was no longer front of mind in the market. How was the company going to compete in a vastly changed environment?

One day while walking around in the neighbourhood to meet the community, Tes had a revelation. She was surprised to find so many widows in the community who had gone through the same journey of grief as her. And even though they didn’t know her, she could establish a connection with them just by opening up about herself and sharing her vulnerability.

“There is a saying by Mother Theresa,” Tes recounts. “The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”

Noting that many baby boomers and widows in her community had questions about selling their property sparked a new direction in her business. These were the people she wanted to serve because she knew what it was like to be in their shoes.

Tes wrote up the new mission, purpose, vision, and values of RPN Global Sales to cater to the people she met in the community. Thus the rebirth of RPN Global Sales began.

We are committed to giving you results, and above all else, we operate with utmost integrity and honesty. We want to do right by you, our vendors.

Part of doing this is not charging any marketing fees. If you sell with us, you pay just a flat fee of 2.5% on settlement—nothing else.

RPN Global Sales still deal with projects, off-the-plan sales and introduce our customers to reputable developers for investment property purchases. Still, our focus is doing our best for our local community, not merely profits. We want to achieve results for you because we’ve been in your shoes and are passionate about real estate.

With our rise out of the ashes come a renewed strength and purpose – our strategy is local, and our mission is global.

Mission

Tes loves a challenge. She loves the road less traveled, and she is on that road now in the process of rebuilding and restarting her business.

With the revitalised RPN Global Sales, we focus on caring for our community with a global mission. This means operating our business as a social enterprise. We use our profits to partner with grassroots organisations overseas, such as Destiny Rescue in the Philippines, which rescue girls from being trafficked into brothels. Other organisations we support focus on sending kids to school and providing livelihoods for families.

We want to combine our passion for real estate and serving our community with our passion for social justice – to make a difference in our world.

By choosing RPN Global Sales as your preferred agent in selling your home, you partner with us in helping to do good in our community and making a difference in the world.

With deep gratitude in her heart, Tes wants to use the journey of rebuilding and restoring her life to serve her vendors better and ultimately to use her business as a vehicle to help rebuild and restore the lives of others who are not as fortunate.

“I am convinced that every detail of my life is continually woven together for good,” Tes says, quoting the bible verse from Romans 8:28.
